A lot of mixed reactions have continued to trail the aftermath of the sentencing of Raymond Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi on Monday, November 7, 2022.
Recall that the Nigerian who previously resided in the United Arab Emirates was sentenced to eleven (11) years imprisonment in the United States of America for internet fraudster, money laundering and other financial related crimes.
Well, famous American rapper and businessman, 50cent has joined the dozens of voices reacting to the matter. In an Instagram post, 50cent revealed that he will be making a film tagged “Hushpuppi series”, probably detailing the activities of the Nigerian fraudster, culminating into his arrest, trial and conviction afterwards.
Meanwhile, many people have continued to react to the post made by the American rapper, including several Nigerian celebrities like actress Uche Jombo, Jaywon, Dr Dolor Entertainment, Deyemi the actor, Isokoboy, Sneeze Mankind, and others.
According to veteran Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, she urged the rapper to delegate the role of “Hushpuppi” to a Nigerian movie actor. In her exact words, “Please give a Nigerian actor the opportunity to play the character.”
“I’ll love to audition to play Hushpuppi,” @deyemitheactor commented.
“That is it right there,” music star, Jaywon wrote as well.

Following his arrest in June 2020 in the United Arab Emirates, Hushpuppi was extradited to the United States of America to face trial for the financial crimes brought against him. Hushpuppi eventually reached a bargain deal with the US government, and was eventually sentenced to eleven years imprisonment in November 2022.
