Quality of service delivery has remained one of the most contentious issues in different parts of the world, and it has equally constantly triggered misunderstanding and fights between an unsatisfied customer and the service provider, for one reason or another.
Meanwhile, this Monday afternoon, we ran into a similar situation involving an angry Nigerian lady known by her Twitter handle as @Ore_akiinde and a popular Nigerian online food vendor identified as “The Yellow Plate”. The former is accusing the later of failing to deliver her food order after successfully making the payment for the cost of the order.
Though the online food vendor initially acknowledged receipt of the money for the order according to the screenshot of their chat shared by the complainant, but along the line they retracted their initial comment and denied they have not received the money, as such, they cannot proceed with the delivery nor make a refund of the money she has paid, as being demanded by the complainant along the line, as she could not get the food she ordered.
“On the 19th of July, I placed an order with @theyellowplate the food wasn’t delivered, I requested for a refund and till now I haven’t been refunded,” she posted via her Twitter handle.
“They unsent their messages and aired all my texts begging them to refund me. So irritated by their service all together,” she added.
And in another post, she made it clear that she will not honour the invitation from them for her to come over to their office, insisting that they should refund her money just the same way they received it without having to meet with her, face to face.
In one of her posts, she shared screenshots of the payment receipt, of which she further revealed that even Opay, which was the platform with which she made the transfer (payment), has confirmed that they (the online food vendor) has received the said sum of money.
Since then, it has been a tug of war between the two disagreeing camps, with the complainant seizing every opportunity to call out the online food vendor across social media platforms.
In one of such, she wrote “we can do this all month oh. Till I get my refund, I won’t rest. @theyellowplate opay has confirmed both on the TL (Timeline), in the dms and through calls. I’m not coming to your office for any reason. It’s the same way I sent you the money, I expect my refund. Bank transfer.”
Further, she revealed that the entire drama started when she was contacted to make an extra payment of one thousand Naira (#1,000), as she was under billed initially, of which she made it clear that she will not do such.
Meanwhile, the drama has expectedly attracted a lot of mixed reactions from people, with some urging her to end this drama as the money involved is a kind of peanut, while many others urged her to pursue her case till her money is refunded, that she shouldn’t mind those saying the amount of money involved is small that she can forgo.
