Every success story definitely has it own tales leading up to that very special moment of achievement of success and greatness. And Chef Hilda Baci is not different from these persons who have come out to talk about their life’s journey and personal experiences before their own special moment finally came around. But unfortunately, her own success story seems to have drawn her against the social media people.
In her recent interview with TVC, Hilda who recently broke the Guinness World Record for longest cooking time by any human, revealed that she was once a homeless person living in the city of Lagos State. According to her, many people do not know about her journey prior to the glory and admiration stalking the success she’s enjoying today, revealing that she was homeless at a point in her life, which many people do not know about.
In her exact words Chef Hilda Baci said, “a lot of people see this buzz now, and most of them think I dropped from the sky. They don’t know I was homeless at some point. There’s an entire phase and journey that got me here, and I’m not even done.”
Continuing, she added, “this is still part of a journey. I’m still on a path, and I’m still going. It’s not always going to be rosy. It’s not always going to be easy.
But we need more examples like this so people can say, ‘Hilda did it, so I can do it as well.”
Many people have criticized her for quickly following in the footprints of many Nigerian celebrities, whom immediately after becoming successful will claim to be once homeless, including those who are from the rich homes. As such, people are increasingly getting tired of coming across such lines from Nigerian celebrities, with some wondering if it has become a criteria for people to become homeless before success, fame and greatness can locate them.
“Every Nigerian celebrity was once homeless, una weldon,” Facebook user @ SpizyD Laffzone commented.
“Nigerians success story no fit pass I was once homeless or I once hawked pure water. Make una rest abeg” MC Austine Ibedu wrote.
“Una don start…no be the same lady attended Madonna? Person Wey dey attend Madonna dey homeless?” Caleb Peter wondered.

Well, I think it’s high time people do away with this story of being homeless, living under the bridge, etc, let’s simply focus on the most important aspect of the success story, such that has the message that can motivate and inspire others still chasing their dreams.
Note, we are not taking away the fact that we do have people who made it in life, though were once homeless, but it is increasingly becoming ridiculous to read same story from almost all the celebrities we have in this part of the world, of being homeless, yet we are fully aware that some of them came from wealthy family.
It doesn’t really add up! We all must not claim that we were once homeless before our success can be appreciated nor before our success story can inspire others.
