England international and Tottenham Spurs playmaker, Harry Kane has continued to prove beyond all reasonable doubts that he is one of the best strikers and goal getters around the world at the moment, and this he has done for as many seasons as possible.
The English man has in the past decade remained most defender’s nightmare, following his prolific and consistent nature for many years now, for both club and country, and equally breaking and setting fresh football records throughout this period of his illustrious football career.
Once again, Kane has shown the world that his name is not being praised for nothing, as he ensured that EPL defending Champions, Manchester City, a club that parades galaxy of football stars, did not get a single point in their EPL encounter today Sunday, February 5, 2023. The only goal of the game was scored by Kane in the 15th minutes, and was enough to secure all three points for Spurs.
Meanwhile, that goal equally earned Kane another enviable milestone in his career as he became Tottenham Spurs all time leading scorer with 267 goals. Prior to the game in question, he was on the same level with Tottenham Spurs legend, the great Jimmy Greaves on 266 goals each for the club, Spurs.
It was such an important goal for both Kane and Spurs who are aiming to finish in the Champions League position at the end of the season, with their Sunday’s victory moving them just one point behind 4th placed Newcastle United. Immediately Kane scored the goal, the home fans had to immediately jump out of their seats to appreciate and applaud Kane’s goal, and a message was quick to come up on the big scoreboard in the stadium, with the words, “Congratulations Harry Kane.”
Meanwhile, Kane has equally queued behind just Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney as English Premier League all time highest goal scorer. While Kane’s goal today was his 200th Premier League goal, Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney had scored 260 and 208 EPL goals respectively during their active days. And it is obvious that Kane who’s 29 years-old will likely surpass both records if he continues with the form that has seen him remain a world class striker for about a decade now.
On the other hand, Arsenal fans will be so grateful to Kane and his teammates for ensuring that Man City missed the opportunity to cut the Gunner’s five (5) points lead at the league summit to just two (2), following their defeat at the Gordison Park on Saturday as Everton defeated them 1-0. As it stands, Arsenal still has their five points lead intact, and with a game in hand.
