Popular and controversial Nigerian investigative journalist and media personality, Dr. Kemi Olunloyo has cautioned Nollywood actresses to be careful with the way they are going about their involvement in politics, especially as it concerns the ongoing general elections in the country.
She warned that in the coming week, that there will begin to witness political assassinations as a result of the bitter fights between some of these Nollywood actresses. She equally made it known that political assassination can be meted out to anyone, especially as the country is not safe at the moment.
Further, she specifically called out some of these Nollywood actresses involved in this matter, especially as they have been fighting each other on Instagram over their different political interest and affiliations, mostly because of the money they get from these politicians.
Kemi maintained that everyone can support candidates of their choice, but warned that this must be done peacefully. Of which she maintained that the lifestyle of these actresses are funded by these politicians, hence the reason for the escalating bitter fighting amongst themselves, especially on Instagram.
She talked about the fight involving Mary Igwe and Lizzy Gold against actress Eniola Badmus, that of Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing against Dayo Amusa, and some others. As such, she stated that this bitter fighting amongst these actresses which is affiliated to political interests is already attracting the attention and interest of political thugs, whom are loyal to different politicians, their political interest and political parties.
Meanwhile, there has been growing rate of animosity and acrimony amongst supporters of various political parties and candidates in the ongoing general elections in the country, most especially as Nigerians desperately awaits the outcome of the 2023 Presidential election.
Unfortunately, situation of things have become more scary following the inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to transmit election results to the INEC portal as stipulated by the current electoral law and as promised by the electoral body. Meanwhile, things have escalated into bizarre situation across social media platforms as people have continued to engage in an unending war of words, threats and other ungodly acts, triggered by clashing political interest and affiliations.
