The truth remains that love is on one hand a beautiful experience, one of the most exciting creations of God almighty, but on the other hand, love is a torture, a heartbreaker, destroyer of joy and happiness, and above all, a traitor. And the latter is definitely the exact feelings and impression of the man in the center of our story this night.
Well, a certain Nigerian man has come out to reveal the bitter, heartbreaking and the near death experience he went through in the hands of his former lover/girlfriend who lives in Calabar, Cross River State. According to this young man in question, while he was doing his compulsory one year National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, he had travelled all the way from Sokoto to Calabar to visit his then girlfriend, Cynthia, but only to meet the shocker of his life, after spending about two days on the road, in the course of his journey to visit his girlfriend in Calabar.
Going further, on arriving the said girl’s house, which was in the night, and shortly after the pleasantries, she then went into the kitchen to prepare something for him to eat, while he went into the bathroom to freshen up. While inside the bathroom, he was already hearing a male voice inside Cynthia’s house, but he was patient enough to finish taking his bath before rushing out to find out who’s the man he’s hearing his voice. Unfortunately, coming out of the bathroom, he met a young man seated on his girlfriend’s bed, they exchanged greetings briefly.
Cynthia joined them immediately, and informed her boyfriend who had travelled down to Calabar from Sokoto, that the other guy is her lover and that they were already planning for their marriage. It was as though the ground should open up and swallow him up instantly, he revealed. This was because he couldn’t explain how he felt at that moment. He subsequently managed to put himself together and asked her why she allowed him embark on such a long and stressful journey when she already has a boyfriend.
“It is a payback time,” she boldly told him, without a feeling of guilt or remorse over what she did to him.
To make matter worse, they refused him passing the night inside their house, as he was chased out of her house that night, and he had to pass the night in a motor park. And at day break, he embarked on his journey back to Sokoto State, possibly without having his shower and equally not having the appetite for food.
“So this girl made me travel from Sokoto to Calabar to take my bath? Cynthia you will suffer waist pain for 200 years, photographer will disappoint you on your wedding day, heavy rain will spoil your wedding cake,” the heartbroken young man continued to lament.
Frankly speaking, even though we would have loved to find out what happened between them that triggered this sort of payback from her, but no one truly deserve this kind of treatment. Yes, this kind of inhumane treatment is capable of pushing someone into extreme depression and subsequent suicide.
