The drama and controversies that have consistently characterized the much anticipated 2023 general elections in Nigeria is not close to being over, even with just few days to the election in question. Social Media platforms have been the epicenter of the majority of the activities of the aforementioned, were supporters of various political parties and their preferred candidates often engage each other in an unending war of words.
Well, last night it was the turn of popular Nollywood actress and movie producer, Toyin Abraham, as she was heavily criticized and bullied after unveiling the candidate of her choice in the 2023 Presidential election, being the candidate of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
She shared photos taken with Tinubu, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-ulo, and others during one of the party’s campaign activities. In the post, she went on to state that it was her first time meeting the Tinubu in person. But the conversation really got messier following the revelation made by the actress about how Tinubu shared with her some of his visions, ideas and strategies aimed at solving the problems bedeviling the country in all facets of its existence.
She went further to say that after listening to him, her hope was renewed and that it equally reaffirmed reasons why she chose him as her preferred Presidential candidate.
The post evidently didn’t go down well with many people on her page as they came after the actress. Some of those who commented on the post wondered why the APC Presidential candidate find it so difficult sharing the said visions, ideas and strategies with Nigerians like some other candidates have done via Presidential debates, etc, of which the APC Presidential candidate has never attended any organized in the country.
For instance, according to a certain comedian identified as @comedianxtreme wrote, “He can’t come before Nigerians to share his visions and ideas but he tells people one on one…”
“Why not share those ideas here instead of fake making what is not real…you better face your career madam,” @samuelolorode wrote.

Well, like we had always maintained, people are at liberty to support any candidate of their choice, the law provides for that and that’s equally the beauty of any democracy. Everyone must not support a singular candidate in an election, as such, no need to attack anyone based on their choice of candidate.
