Popular and highly controversial Nigerian musician and record producer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known on stage as Portable or Portable Zazu who is already in detention by the Ogun State Police Command is definitely going to face tough times ahead, according to our latest investigation.
This comes as the police has revealed some of his offences, of which most of them cones with grave consequences considering the nature of the offences. Some of these offences were actually made known by the force Public Relation Officer of Ogun State Police Command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, while confirming that the Zazu crooner is in their custody as well.
According to Mr. Adejobi, the music star has refused to honour police invitations on more than three different occasions, he equally assaulted police officers who stormed his bar few days ago to enforce his arrest after failing to honour all the invitations extended to him, following a serious petition filed against him by a certain Nigerian who owns a music studio in Ogun State.
Sadly, Portable allegedly stormed the said music studio and destroyed a lot of things in the studio, equally sent his boys to go after the studio owner during which he was inflicted with severe wounds and injuries, as he was beaten black and blue by the boys allegedly sent by Portable. Though the cause of the problem between the duo is yet to be made known to the public at the time of this post.
Well, following his subsequent arrest, the Ogun State Police Command has revealed that Portable will be facing more than six count criminal charges, including resisting arrest, injuring a police officer during the first attempt to arrest him. Equally, he will be facing charges for assaulting the petitioner, inflicting malicious damages on the petitioner’s music studio in Ogun State, among other likely charges that will be brought up against him.
Meanwhile, the Tribune News platform revealed that the Ogun State Police Command has equally made it known that there are some other petitions against Portable from different quarters, majorly bothering on assaults, which has been with them before this very development.
It was equally stated that all the previous petitions against Portable will be investigated and added to the present petition at hand, which all will form part of the evidences/exhibits with which he would be charged to court once investigation is concluded. But they have also assured the general public that the musician won’t be kept in their custody for too long as he will be arraigned in court as soon as possible.
The Ogun State Force PRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, also made it clear that nobody is above the law no matter your social status or class in the society. That because Portable is a celebrity does not make him stand above the law, therefore, that he will inevitably have the law to contend with for his unlawful actions.
On the other hand, many people have continued to criticize the character and lifestyle of Portable, most especially via social media platforms. In same manner, some persons have hailed the musician for being real and not trying to fake his lifestyle, while equally attacking those criticizing him for one reason or the other, which they claimed to be as a result of envy.
