Death they say is an inevitable end to everyone, but the truth remains that death, no matter how or when it visits, is one of the most heartbreaking and traumatic experiences in human existence. More so, when people we hold so dear to our hearts dies, and we are at same juncture once again, as news reaching us this Wednesday afternoon indicates that veteran Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke is dead.
Mummy Cynthia Okereke as she’s fondly called by her colleagues in the movie industry is alleged to have died in her sleep last night. The sad news was made known to by her colleague, Joseph Okechukwu via his official social media platform.
The actor went further to state that he was already making plans for the deceased to come over to his base in the United States of America, unfortunately she did not live enough to witness it.
Recall that she was among the Nollywood actors kidnapped by some criminal elements late last year at their movie location in Enugu. She and another veteran actor, Clemson Cornell Agbogidi were eventually released by their abductors after spending many days in their custody, though it wasn’t revealed if they collected money from them before their release or not.
Mummy Cynthia Okereke who often played the character of a village woman, Royal Queen, grand mama, mother in law, etc, has featured in dozens of Nollywood movies, including blockbusters like Osuofia in London, King Jaja of Opobo, Mr. Ibu’s Wedding Day, Coronation, Second Chance, and many many others.
She was aged 63.
