The truth is that we can hardly keep controversies, drama, and unending scrutiny away from politics, especially in this part of the world. It is more often seen in a bid by the opposing interests to run down the other camp or political party in other to have a better chance in winning the election at stake.
Well, in the midst of the above scenario, controversial Nigerian investigative journalist and media personality, Dr. Kemi Olunloyo has publicly attacked Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, who is running as a deputy to the 2023 Governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Rivers State, Tonte Ibraye.

Kemi Olunloyo who has a trademark characteristic of stirring up controversies, most especially with her social media posts, which in one of her recent posts claimed that the Rivers State born actress is a School dropout who never graduated from the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT. Further, Kemi alleged that Tonto Dikeh does not have any certificate for the compulsory National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, scheme.
Also, she went further to question the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on what ground was Tonto Dikeh able to secure the ticket to run for the position of the deputy governor under ADC in Rivers State.
“Wonders shall never end,” she added. But why she singled out Tonto Dikeh for this kind of media attack is yet to be ascertained or figured out.
Well, according to section 177 (d) of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria, it expressly made it clear that the person vying for the position of a governor and deputy to the governor of a state must have at least a minimum of School Certificate level or its equivalent.
More so, Kemi Olunloyo has on several occasions, prior to the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria, claimed that she will not be getting herself involved in this year’s elections, including that she will not be promoting or casting her vote for any of the candidates.
Yet, she has continued to make series of social media posts about activities around the said election in question, including about different candidates of some of the political parties.
