Just at a time the industry is still mourning the unfortunate death of their senior member, Don Brymo who passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, another unfortunate drama has emanated from Nollywood as actresses Destiny Etiko and Ruby Ojiakor fight dirty on social media, and making lots of threats at each other.
In a videos obtained by our social media team, Destiny Etiko is accusing her colleague, Ruby Ojiakor of collecting the sum of seven hundred thousand Naira from her for a job currently being produced by Destiny in Asaba, Delta State, and failed to turn up for the job.
According to Etiko, she never intended to use Ruby for her job for fear she might not have chance to do the job, but alleged that Ruby had reached out to her for jobs, after which she changed her mind and decided to cast Ruby Ojiakor for her movie. Meanwhile, Ruby has allegedly refused to do the job nor refund the money since she has been busy with jobs from other producers.
On the other hand, a visibly angry Destiny Etiko questioned the market value of Ruby, in other words, how many copies of movie can Ruby’s face sell in the movie market.
“How many thousand copies you dey sell?” Destiny Etiko wondered. She then went on to heap insults and abuses on Ruby for going behind her back to talk bad about her (Destiny) and equally threatening to beat Destiny, in spite being the person at fault.
Destiny equally revealed her location at that moment for Ruby to come and beat her as she allegedly threatened to do as a result. She then made it clear that if not for Ruby’s newly born baby, that she (Destiny) would have visited her in her house to teach her the lesson of her life.
In a quick response, Ruby Ojiakor made about ten minutes video, equally hauling insults, abuses and threats on her colleague, Destiny Etiko. Meanwhile, she claimed to have informed Destiny on time that she already has many jobs on her table and as such, that she wouldn’t be chanced to do her job, but Destiny kept persuading her, on the ground that it she (Ruby) who can perfectly interpret that role in the said movie.
That it was the incessant pleas that made her say to Destiny, “let’s see how it goes”, but never promised her that she would be 100% available to do her job.
Ruby equally revealed that even the job she’s currently shooting for another producer, that she is being close marked by the producer, as he had gotten information that Destiny Etiko is on her neck for her job, as such, she couldn’t leave the job for Destiny’s own, which she claimed to have explained all these to Destiny.
Further, Ruby also accused Destiny of being an unrepentant gossip, who equally brags too much about her material assets, to the extent that she, Destiny gossiped about the quality of gift items she (Ruby) donates to the needy through her foundation, and even the grade of car she’s driving.
“I know I no get money reach you, you have houses, expensive cars, you are now producing your own movies, back to back…but shut up,” Ruby Ojiakor said.
Just like Destiny did, she also threatened to beat up Destiny Etiko like a kid, as she doesn’t talk too much about what she intends to do, unlike Destiny. In the end, she vowed never to refund the money paid to her for the said job as she has used the money for something else. But she agreed to do another job for Destiny for the 700k, but if it’s to refund the money, that it’s not possible, and as such that Destiny Etiko should do her worse.
